Aenea Ponce de Leon is currently a dental hygiene student at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Dentistry. She grew up in Houston, Texas and attended St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. While attending St. Mary's, Aenea held leadership positions in the Pre-Dental Club and Best Buddies Club. Since college, she has been proactive in working in the Intellectual and Developmentally Disabled community through the Arc of Greater Houston. As a first-year hygiene student, she has become the dental hygiene student representative for the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry Club at UTHealth. Aenea has a passion for patient education and is honored to be pursing it through dental hygiene.
