The Two-handed Transfer

The two handed transfer is used when transferring bulky instruments such as the dental dam, clamp forceps or surgical forceps. Due to the bulk or weight of certain instruments, this is sometimes necessary for safety. This transfer requires the assistant to pick up the used instrument with one hand and deliver the new instrument with the opposite hand. This exchange requires more movement and limits the use of the HVE and A/W syringe.
